Menagerie of the Imago

This work was created during my undergraduate studies at Fort Hays State University. During that time I was greatly influenced by the Tennesse Williams play "The Glass Menagerie" in which a sheltered young woman makes the transition from a carefully built fantasy world to a sudden awareness of reality. The sculpture in this series represents my own psychological awaking and the first explorations into my adult identity. Many of the themes developed during this period have evolved through the years and are present in different forms in my current work.
