Human Bonds as Bondage

In the series "Human Bonds as Bondage", I attempt to process the complex connection between love and responsibility. My mixed media collage explores the strong psychological desire for safety and comfort juxtaposed with the contrasting need for unpredictability and spontaneity. Within this contradiction the individual struggles to remain true to his or her nature. This paradox unfolds in the images exposing the idea that ambivalence is the human condition and the only perfection is authenticity.
